Dutch Reformed First Church of Albany
110 N. Pearl St., Albany. Founded in 1642, this church houses America’s oldest pulpit, hand carved with its own hour glass, imported from Holland in 1656, and weathercock. The current building was designed by famed architect Phillip Hooker in 1798 and also boasts tiffany windows. 518-463-4449.   

Nicole’s Bistro
25 Quackenbush Square, Albany. This fine continental restaurant is housed in the Quackenbush house erected in the early 1700’s in the Dutch vernacular style. The house was part of the Quackenbush brick works located on the banks of the Hudson River.

The Albany Institute of History And Art
125 Washington Avenue, Albany. Founded in 1791 the Albany Institute is dedicated to the history of the upper Hudson Valley. The museum is home to Dutch related art and artifacts and a replica of a Dutch home of the earliest period. 518-463-478. www.AlbanyInstitute.org

The New Netherland Museum & Half Moon Visitor’s Center

LUYKAS VAN ALEN HOUSE
Route 9H, Kinderhook. Designated a National Historic Landmark in 1968, the Luykas Van Alen House is a restored house museum representing 18th century rural Dutch farm life. BRINKERHOFF-PUDNEY PALEN HOUSE
North Kensington Dr., East Fishkill. Built in the 18th century the original structure consisted of a kitchen with a large fireplace and oven, a steep staircase to the single room upstairs, a Dutch door, and a covered, enclosed porch. FIRST REFORMED PROTESTANT DUTCH CHURCH

FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT HOME NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE
Route 9, Hyde Park. Lifelong home of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, including gravesite, Rose Garden, and Top Cottage, designed by the president in the Dutch Colonial style found throughout the Hudson Valley. Open daily 9am – 5pm. 845-229-9115. www.nps.gov

MADAM BRETT HOMESTEAD
50 Van Nydeck Avenue, Beacon. Dutchess County’s oldest homestead. Built in 1709, a strange coincidence in history places its construction midway between the discovery of the river by Hendrik Hudson in 1609 and the first successful application of steam to navigation by Robert Fulton on that same river in 1807. Fulton’s name is directly linked to the house, for his eldest grandson, Rev. Robert Fulton Crary, married one of Madam Brett’s descendents and raised his family there. Open second Saturday each month and by appointment.

MOUNT GULIAN HISTORIC SITE

BRONCK MUSEUM
90 County Road 42, Coxsackie. This site, operated as a working farm by eight generations of the Bronck family, is the oldest Dutch complex in the Hudson Valley. The oldest dwellings go back to 1633 and 1738. The complex also includes 19th century barns, as well as 18th and 19th century art, furniture, ceramics and glass. DUTCH REFORMED CHURCH
Second & Grand Streets, Newburgh. Recognized as an architectural treasure and world monument, this Greek Revival building designed by Alexander Jackson Davis was commissioned in 1834 by the elders of the Dutch Reformed Church. FORT DECKER
127 West Main Street, Port Jervis. This 18th century historic stone house near the Delaware River was the residence of the descendants of Gerretsen Decker who arrived from Holland in the late 1600’s. GOMEZ MILL HOUSE
11 Millhouse Road, Marlboro. Dutch-American patriot, Wolfert Acker, a descendant of one of the earliest Dutch settlers of the New Netherlands added a second story of Dutch construction influence to this beautiful brick structure, the oldest manor house in Orange County and the earliest extant Jewish residence in America. KNOX’S HEADQUARTERS STATE HISTORIC SITE
Old Forge Hill Road & Route 94, New Windsor. Elegant country estate of Dutch, Georgian and English architecture which was occupied by Generals Knox, Greene and Gates during the Revolutionary War. MAHACKAMACK CHURCHYARD
East Main St., Port Jervis. One of the oldest graveyards in present day Orange County with burials of early Dutch and Anglo-Dutch settlers. Martinus Decker, a Revolutionary War Patriot, whose father, Peter, was a founder of the Dutch Reformed Church in Port Jervis, is buried here. PACEM IN TERRIS

WASHINGTON’S HEADQUARTERS STATE HISTORIC SITE
84 Liberty Street, Newburgh. Washington’s longest stay at a Revolutionary War Headquarters occurred in Newburgh at the Hasbrouck family’s 1727 Dutch-vernacular stone farm house overlooking the Hudson River. DEWINT HOUSE
Livingston St. & Oak Tree Rd., Tappan. Built in 1700, and the oldest surviving structure in Rockland County, the DeWint House—named after the family who owned it during Washington’s visits—is an outstanding example of Colonial Dutch architecture in the Hudson Valley. It served as George Washington’s temporary Headquarters at Tappan on four separate occasions during the American Revolutionary War, including the treason trial of Major Andre. STONY POINT BATTLEFIELD STATE HISTORIC SITE
The only Revolutionary War Battlefield in Rockland County. The location of a successful midnight assault by the American Light Infantry against a British garrison in 1779. Also, the site of the oldest lighthouse on the Hudson River. Today, it all comes to life through museum exhibits and special events including evening battlefield and lighthouse tours. THE JACOB BLAUVELT HOUSE
20 Zukor Road, New City. Home of the Rockland Co. Historical Society, this two-story Gambrel-roofed brick farmhouse was built in 1832 by one of Rockland County’s founding families, and is one of the few remaining examples of Dutch-Flemish architecture. The house includes six period rooms with Hudson Valley furnishings, with a historic barn and carriage house. FRIENDS OF HISTORIC KINGSTON MUSEUM
63 Main St., Kingston. Guided walking tours of the 1658 Stockade National Historic District, the largest intact early Dutch settlement in New York State where many early settlers' old limestone houses still stand along streets laid out by Peter Stuyvesant. HISTORIC HURLEY & THE HURLEY HERITAGE SOCIETY MUSEUM
52 Main St., Hurley. Settled by the Dutch in 1661, Hurley’s Main Street is a national Historic Landmark District with 10 stone houses in a quarter-mile. KIERSTED HOUSE MUSEUM

Once the home of John Kiersted, a member of a prominent family in Ulster County dating back to the Colonial Dutch period, it is now home to the Saugerties Historical Society. KINGSTON HERITAGE AREA VISITORS CENTER
308 Clinton Ave., Kingston. Built in 1837 by Thomas Van Gaasbeek, the Federal style house serves as the uptown information center for Kingston’s Heritage Area. THE HOFFMAN HOUSE RESTAURANT
94 North Front St, Kingston. Located in the 1658 Stockade area, musket holes found in the upper floor and steps in the attic leading to the roof point to its possible early use as a fort or lookout. THE SENATE HOUSE
296 Fair Street, Kingston. New York State Senate convened its very first meeting here while it was the home of Abraham Van Gaasbeek. Built in 1676, the house reflects both the building traditions of the original Dutch colonists and the gradual acceptance of English construction styles. The adjacent museum contains the largest collection of John Vanderlyn paintings, drawings and papers in the country. Concerts, lectures and major events are offered throughout the year. Open April 15-Oct. 31 and year round by appointment.

OLD DUTCH CHURCH OF SLEEPY HOLLOW
42 North Broadway, Tarrytown. The Old Dutch Church of Sleepy Hollow was constructed around 1685 on what was then the manor of Frederick Philipse, whose 52,000 acre landholdings stretched from Yonkers to Croton. The original bell, cast in the Netherlands, still hangs in the belfry. PHILIPSBURG MANOR

PHILIPSE MANOR HALL STATE HISTORIC SITE
29 Warburton Avenue, Yonkers. The Philipse Family, Dutch in origin, began building the Manor around 1682, nearly a century before Frederick Philipse III sealed the family’s fate by signing the Declaration of Dependence in 1776. Today, Philipse Manor Hall serves as a museum of history, art and architecture, as well as host to community organizations, meetings, educational programs and special events. Highlights include its 18th-century, high-style Georgian architecture, a 1750s papier-mache Rococo ceiling, a portrait collection, the Gothic Revival chamber and a Community Gallery. Guided tours are offered Tuesday – Sunday at 12, 2 and 3 p.m. from April to October and at 12, 1, and 2 p.m. from November - April.
